Flanders Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (ILVO)

ILVO stands for multidisciplinary, independent research and specialized service provision in all fields related to agriculture, fisheries and food in Flanders. The Flanders Research Institute for agriculture, fisheries and food (ILVO) performs multidisciplinary, innovative and independent research aimed at economically, ecologically and socially sustainable agriculture and fisheries. Through this research, ILVO accumulates fundamental and applied knowledge which is vital for the improvement of products and production methods for quality control and the safety of end products, and for the amelioration of policy instruments as a foundation for sector development and agricultural policy for rural areas. ILVO, an internationally recognized scientific institute, is part of the Government of Flanders.

ILVO mostly contributes to WP2 and WP3 of the DairyMix project, through the further development and increased implementation of OTICE within the partners’ case study farms, that will allow to build an extensive dataset on animal housing emissions (T2.4). This will be combined with datasets gathered from parallel projects, such as the Flemish emission monitoring project and ongoing emission research at Teagasc and ATB. This database and international monitoring network will act as a small scale trial version of an EU Level Emission Database (EULED, T3.5). ILVO also contributes to WP5 through the presentation of the findings of a PhD student in peer-reviewed publications and at national and international conferences.
